| 24/09/12 | Ministers have confirmed that Universal Credit regulations will be laid after the Chancellor of the Exchequer's Autumn Statement on 5 December. As is usual practice, the Committee's report on the Universal Credit regulations - and the Government's response - will be published alongside them. In the meantime, the Department for Work and Pensions has assured us that it is actively reflecting on the points raised during the consultation, and has sent this letter to the Committee's Chair outlining recent developments (41KB)  |
| 17/09/12 | You may have seen media coverage over the weekend referring to advice provided by this Committee to the Government on Universal Credit. It might be helpful to clarify that the report referred to is the Committee's response to the Universal Credit White Paper. This advice was submitted in 2010 at an early stage in the development of Universal Credit. The Committee has recently consulted on the draft Universal Credit regulations, and its report will be published - alongside the Government's response - when the Universal Credit Regulations are laid in Parliament later in the year. |
